About EliteMeta

EliteMeta is a Canadian education technology startup developing immersive digital learning experiences for education, cultural exploration, professional training, and institutional programs. We are moving from early product development into pilot validation and commercialization in Canada.

The Role

EliteMeta is looking for a practical and detail-oriented Business Operations & Data Analyst to help the founding team organize business information, improve reporting, and support data-informed decisions during the company's early commercialization stage.

This is not a narrowly defined dashboard-production role. You will work across business operations, customer discovery, pilot tracking, market research, financial reporting, and process improvement — turning information spread across spreadsheets, documents, emails, forms, and tools into clear systems, reports, and actionable insights.

What You'll Work On

Business and operational reporting

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards covering customer outreach, pilot status, project progress, expenses, commercialization activities, and key operating metrics.
  • Consolidate and transform information from spreadsheets, CRM records, website forms, financial documents, and internal tools into reliable datasets.
  • Establish practical KPIs for the early commercialization stage and prepare monthly operating summaries.
  • Validate data quality (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness) for key reporting outputs.

Customer discovery and pilot pipeline

  • Create and maintain a structured pipeline of prospective schools, training providers, cultural organizations, community groups, and other partners.
  • Define CRM data requirements and build reporting that tracks discovery activity, needs, objections, budget indicators, proposed pilots, conversion rates, and follow-up performance.
  • Analyze pipeline data to identify recurring needs, common objections, promising segments, and pilot opportunities.
  • Prepare reporting and recommendations that help the team prioritize target customers and pilots.

Process improvement and automation

  • Improve recurring workflows for reporting, data consolidation, document tracking, customer follow-up, and pilot management.
  • Build automated workflows using Power Query, Power Automate, Excel, SQL, Microsoft Fabric, or lightweight scripts.
  • Establish reliable processes without unnecessary complexity, and document them for founders, employees, and future team members.

Market and business analysis

  • Support market research, competitor tracking, pricing analysis, and customer segmentation.
  • Translate research into concise reports, presentations, dashboards, and decision-support materials.
  • Support commercialization planning by analyzing segments, pipeline performance, pilot conversion, operating capacity, and business scenarios.
  • Provide data, analysis, and visuals to support grant reporting, partner proposals, and institutional discussions.

Corporate and financial records

  • Maintain reliable business data supporting management reporting, accounting, grant compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Work with the founding team and external accounting or professional service providers when required.
  • This role does not replace professional accounting, tax, legal, or immigration advice.

What We're Looking For

  • A degree or diploma in business analytics, data analytics, information systems, computer science, business administration, or a related area — or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in business intelligence, data analysis, business analysis, operations analysis, or reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and at least one visualization tool such as Power BI.
  • Ability to translate unclear business questions into practical KPIs, reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Power Query, data transformation, or workflow automation.
  • Strong written communication and the ability to explain findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage unclear inputs, and propose next practical steps.
  • Based in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting a startup, small business, education company, SaaS product, or consulting project.
  • Exposure to customer discovery, CRM management, market research, or institutional sales.
  • Experience preparing executive dashboards, business proposals, operational reports, or grant-supporting documentation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI semantic models, Python, data warehousing, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Interest in education technology, digital learning, immersive content, cultural education, or professional training.

What Success Looks Like

In the first three to six months, you will help EliteMeta establish a reliable monthly operating dashboard, create a structured customer discovery and pilot pipeline, improve the quality and consistency of financial and operating records, reduce manual data work through automation, produce analysis that guides customer and pilot prioritization, and build reporting processes and documentation that scale as EliteMeta onboards customers and partners.

Why Join EliteMeta

Work directly with the founding team during a critical commercialization stage, help shape reporting systems and business processes before they become hard to change, gain exposure across product, operations, market research, customer development, and business intelligence, and grow with the role as pilots, customers, and operations expand.
